BP announced today a plan to collect all of the oil off of the gulf coast with a giant container.  The container, which weighs approximately 10,000,000 tons and is large enough to contain the state of Delaware has an estimated cost of 87 billion dollars.

But some are not so optimistic about this plan.  One critic said, “Sure, we’ll capture all of that nasty oil, but then what do we do with the giant barrel?”

In an effort to curb such critics, a spokesperson for BP said, “We realize some are concerned about the size and general ridiculousness of a mammoth barrel of oil.  That’s why immediately following the gulf cleanup we will be developing a trash compactor, granted, a very large one, which shouldn’t take up any more space than, say, all of West Virginia and part the part of Virginia that most folks don’t visit.  What I’m saying here is that we don’t think tourist trade will be affected.
