So Health Care Passed and now some are asking if the arm-twisting tactics used by Democrats will set a precedent for future issues to be, oh, what’s the phrase everyone loves, “rammed through,” in the same fashion.  I don’t think so.  First, if the issue is with reconciliation, it’s been done before, and folks on both sides of the aisle will probably bring that up from time to time.  Mainly though, such “ramming” techniques would quickly tire out the public.  Without going into the merits and flaws of Health Care, it is clear that such a contentious issue is nationally exhausting.  We all want to move forward (pundits aside).

It will come to this: most issues will not be so hotly debated, nor so paramount for a president to even warrant such aggressive tactics.  Further, as much as neither side wants to be the party of “no,” neither side can afford to be the party of “no way but ours.”
