Now I’m no scientist, but I did take AP biology and would consider myself something of an expert on biological energy transfer. Evidently, what’s happening here is that the dozen or so solar panels that were greenly placed around Union Square in downtown San Francisco were actually set up to capture pigeons. The square, already a bastion of pigeon sanctuary, is clearly more desirable with these conventient foot stools. The city also has plans to set up wind farms on 6th and Market which will serve as shelter for the homeless types who don’t mind windmills as roofs.
