It’s clear that there wasn’t a single woman who was involved in the branding process of the Universal Technical Institute or, as it’s more commonly known, UTI.

But ladies, hold off for a moment on explaining why.  Men?  Any idea of what this is all about?  Could UTI possibly refer to anything besides the Universal Technical Institute?  Is it something that maybe a woman might have more experience with than a man?

I’ll give you a hint: infection.  Any thoughts?

Second hint: pee pee.

Any closer?

Okay, okay, ladies, please, explain the ridiculousness of calling any respectable institute UTI.

Urinary, Tract, Infection.  Yup, that’s right.  UTI is more commonly the abbreviation for one of a ladies least favorite genital calamities.  Women get urinary tract infections way more often then men (so I learned in sex-ed class) because their urethra is a lot shorter then men’s, which allows for bacteria to prosper and take hold much more quickly.

At least they went with Universal Technical Institute.  They could have gone with Sustainment Technical Department.
