What irritates me about this rhetorical ad about hepatitis B prevention is that the answer is so easy. It’s obviously the slightly retarded gentleman in the middle of the photo. I mean, camon’, desert island, your plane crashes: who would you point out had not respected the conch and deserved to be hunted down until you had finally captured his fire-making glasses.
What I like about it though is that it points out a really valuable social commentary: unlike the average college brochure featuring white-girl, black-guy and wheel-chaired-anybody, only East-Asians are likely to get hepatitis B and are rounded up for summary judgment.

Haha. That actually looks like a photo from a family reunion. And if it was, then the inspiration for the campaign would make complete sense, because who HASN’T thought that exact thing at a giant family gathering?
In a weird way, I feel almost cheated. Where’s my X amount of Jew? I want to see some inner-city white and upper-suburban black!
In all seriousness, that is the definition of absurdity, and will fuel predjudice either way you swing it.
It would also make more sense if it was a group of people who you would actually SUSPECT to have Hepatitis B. I was actually making a Birthday card for a friend when I read this, and was already trying to think of a caption for this picture I found. This entry has inspired me, and here is a link to my response to this.

Apparently your photo has been removed. I’m sure it was hilarious/poignant (whichever is more fitting.)
Then again, weren’t there a bunch of kids who got Hep B from eating strawberries in a cup from their school lunch? Where’s the unassuming child demographic here?
