kaiaFirst of all,  I find it really horrible that whoever put this up referred to Kaia as a dog.  She was always a little fox in my book. How anyone can give a  name to animal, or anything for that matter, which was so clearly established in this loving and beloved little character, is anyone’s guess.
The dog formerly known as Kaia has clearly fled her home in seach of a better name.

For me, I don’t have to guess anything.  As a puppy, Kaia was happy and eager, but as she matured and her training was nearing its end, she finally reached the most important point in a y0ung dog’s education, she began to understand her own name.  I’m sure it was a horrible shock to her, that all this time when she believed her masters were discussing Kaia Ufgood, loyal wife of Willow, they were really referring to her.  In some ways it must have been a relief.  She had never wondered why they repeated commands they shouted.  It made sense to say, “Kaia, sit!” over and over, since Kaia was not in the room.  But why, she wondered, did her masters want Kaia to sit in the first place when there was so much work to do, fending off devil-dogs and minding her young bobbins before the harvest.  But despite such small reliefs, she must have known that such a name could never truly be hers.  So off she went, in search of Fin Raziel, who may possesses the power to overthrow this awful bit of animal naming.Kaia
